It all started with a simple desire to make a difference. You see, I've always had a soft spot for rescue organisations, and my heart sings at the thought of lending a helping paw wherever I can. My journey began with Hounds in Homes, where I found joy in capturing portraits of Greyhounds before they would get adopted. But then, one day, a post on a local Facebook group caught my eye. It was from Wally's Doggie Rescue, a local organisation that had recently rescued a large litter of puppies cruelly abandoned and left to fend for themselves. My heart broke at the mere thought of such innocent creatures being discarded like this 💔
How to help Sydney - Mosman based Rescue?
I knew I had to do something. Though I couldn't offer financial support at the time, I had something equally precious to give: my time and talent. And so, an idea was born. I reached out to Wally's and proposed a super mini photoshoot in my super mini home studio, where 📸🐾
Venturing into studio photography was certainly a new frontier for me, and boy, was it a challenge! 📸 But hey, where there's a will, there's a way, right? Setting up the perfect lighting, ensuring the safety and comfort of both the dogs and their owners. Thankfully, I had a trusty backdrop in my arsenal: my gigantic black backdrop, that I originally use for those striking black background horse photoshoots. 🐴🖤 With a little creativity and some improvisation, I transformed my humble home into a studio fit. A table served as our makeshift stage, while my camera, securely mounted on a tripod, stood ready to capture every precious moment without delay. And let me tell you, seeing those wagging tails and twinkling eyes against the sleek black backdrop made all the effort more than worthwhile!
A heartfelt thank you to each and every beautiful soul in Mosman who joined us on this journey to make a difference! Thanks to your generous spirits and love for furry friends, we were able to raise an incredible $340 for Wally's Doggie Rescue. 🎉💕 While I initially anticipated that studio photography would be a breeze, the reality was a bit more time-consuming than expected. As a result, some of our patient pup parents had to wait a tad longer than anticipated for their edited photos. 🕒💻 But in the end, it was all worth it. Together, we captured moments of love, joy, and companionship that will surely make a difference in the lives of the rescue pups awaiting their forever homes. 🐶
While I may not be able to host these sessions as frequently as I'd like, I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be setting aside one special day every quarter to continue supporting Wally's Rescue in Mosman.
